Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a fast-paced Clinic. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN is responsible for the initial assessment of patients, minor procedure provision and patient teaching. As an LPN in a clinic setting, you are an important part of an interdisciplinary team that ensures appropriate patient care in an outpatient setting. The LPN plays a key role in the support of an integrated and holistic approach to the patient's healthcare and health promotion. Strong assessment skills are required as well as the ability to adapt to different situations quickly. The LPN acts as the liaison between the interdisciplinary team and other providers to support the patient.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience. Recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an ambulatory care setting. Proficiency with Connect Care. Must be physically capable of, Lifting and carrying 10-15 kg on a regular basis. Participating in hands-on patient care, including assisting with transfers and mobility support (e.g., bariatric clients). Performing tasks that involve bending, twisting, and walking long distances.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with patient teaching. Experience assisting physicians during minor procedures.
