Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of all modules from the CLPNA required. Graduation from a recognized practical nursing program with the ability to work to a full scope of practice. Must be able to move, push pull, lift greater than 50lbs. Minimum of 1-year, recent acute care medicine nursing experience required. Basic computing skills required. Must be able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally and emotionally) on this very busy fast paced Gastrointestinal/TB Unit. Must be able to work within posted position rotation and shifts. Must possess excellent communication, critical thinking, and time management skills. Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Must be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines and procedures. Preferred Qualifications:

Connect Care trained applicants preferred. Recent GI and medicine experience preferred. Greater than 2 years in acute care medicine nursing experience preferred. Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning preferred.
