This unique recruitment effort at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) will recruit Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) into our Medicine, Surgery, and Women's Health departments. The RAH is one of two Tertiary Trauma Centers in Edmonton & one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Canada. Centrally located in Edmonton's vibrant downtown core, the RAH serves a diverse community, including some of our province's most vulnerable and marginalized populations. As a LPN, you will have the opportunity to use your clinical skills to perform a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. As the successful candidate, you demonstrate a professional attitude while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, as part of the RAH Relief Team, you will provide coverage for shifts on the following RAH program areas: Medicine, Surgery, and/or Women's Health programs. This position also involves actively participating in the development and coordination of discharge planning and providing leadership to HCAs on the nursing team and support their LPN peers. Being flexible and the ability to get along with people is important in this role. To excel in a busy and ever-changing healthcare environment, the LPN will need work well both independently and collaboratively, be calm under pressure, agile, organized, and empathetic.
