The 5F4 unit is a fast-paced Hematology/Oncology unit within the Medicine Program, specializing in hematological oncology care. The team offers comprehensive training, including advanced chemotherapy administration (OPREP and Beacon) and charge nurse duties. The unit fosters a collaborative and supportive environment, helping new staff navigate their learning and transition smoothly. Due to the dynamic nature of the unit, there is a significant volume of diagnostic transfers, along with frequent transfusion support and chemotherapy administration. Ideal candidates will bring a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and the energy to provide exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Compassionate and detail-oriented registered nurse with recent experience in an acute care practice setting and a strong clinical interest in Hematology/Oncology. Completed OPREP and Chemotherapy Training and successfully undertook Charge Nurse responsibilities. Demonstrates key competencies essential for high-quality patient care.
