Under the supervision of the Eating Disorders Program Unit Manager, and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will act as a care provider for inpatient clients with eating disorders as well as to their families. The LPN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, as well as utilize the nursing process and professional knowledge in delivering compassionate and professional nursing care to the target population. The LPN will participate in the provision of education and treatment in both individual and group formats. Primary responsibilities include performing medical monitoring and assessment, meal support therapy, suicide and self-harm assessments, mental status examination, and daily mental health support. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
