Your Opportunity:The Glenrose Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary rehabilitation centre with an international reputation for excellence in complex rehabilitation. The older adult program 4C is a 37 bed unit that provides assessment and treatment of older adults with complex medical needs. Working in a collaborative care model, the LPN is a member of the inter-professional care team who facilitates the patient's rehabilitation care plan with the patient and family. The ideal candidate should be able to promote patient safety, comfort, independence and dignity and must have extensive experience with older adults. This position is physically demanding, and staff are required to provide continuous bed side nursing and work on their feet for extended periods. You will be required to assist patients with ADL's including lifting/transferring and toileting of patients.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:2-3 years of experience working in acute med/surg, 2-3 years of experience working with adults or older adults in a hospital setting. Must be able to work to full scope. Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience with Connect Care training. FIM certified.
