Your Opportunity:The LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive patient and family centered care on an acute surgical unit in accordance with the UAH and AHS policy and procedures. 3E4 is an 18+ bed unit providing care to Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery and general surgery patients received from the operating room, emergency department, intensive care unit and directly from home and/or surgery clinics. Decisions are made in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment. The LPN is expected to participate in quality improvement initiatives; supporting and maintaining high quality patient care strategies within the surgery program. The LPN is expected to take on the responsibility of charge nurse as required. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 1 year of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery and general surgery experience; must be flexible and adaptable to work in a fast paced and changing environment; must not have any restrictions to walk, push, pull, transfer, bend and carry. CPR must be current. N95 fit tested. MLL modules must be up to date or in progress. Connect Care trained; must be able to work to full scope of practice and have all required clinical competencies up to date.
