Your Opportunity:The Addiction Recovery Centre (ARC) offers safe and supportive facility for individuals experiencing withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. We need experienced, caring, strength-based nursing to complement our multidisciplinary team . This position supports admissions/inpatients and you will be responsible for direct client care including triaging, assessment, observation, planning, implementation, medication administration and evaluation. You will operate within a busy multidisciplinary team environment and must demonstrate strong organizational, team leadership and communication skills with a diverse range of clients, professionals and the public.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Working knowledge of chemical dependency, including the pathophysiology of substance abuse and withdrawal. Ability to triage, conducts assessment and adjust plans based upon identified needs. Ability to respond to medical emergencies, drug overdoses, and seizures. IV and phlebotomy certification. Non Violent Crisis Intervention training. Must be flexible and able to adapt to working with highly acute needs.
