Your Opportunity:

As a RAAPID Referral LPN, along with the collaborative team of RNs and Admin Support staff, you work with a variety of referring Physicians/ Practitioners and Consultants within a large catchment area and assist with facilitating timely physician to physician consultations, and coordinate flow of patient into tertiary and regional centers for assessment and or care. The Referral LPN at RAAPID plays a key role in capacity balancing requests and providing expert support to practitioners to ensure a safe delivery of care, in the right place at the time. Advanced Practice Standards 3-10 & 16-17 required (found in the Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses - 5th Edition on the CLPNA website).

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

CTAS/Triage training and experience. Recent Emergency Department experience within 5 years. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated excellent communication skills. Must be able to type a minimum of 35 words a minute. This is not an entry-level position and consists of 100% computer work. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Connect Care. Experience in telephone communication.
