Your Opportunity:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing therapies for antibiotic, non-antibiotic treatments within the clinic. Non-antibiotic treatments may include blood products, specialized infusions, iron infusions and phlebotomies. The IV Therapy clinic is an outpatient clinic located within the Sturgeon Community Hospital. It is an exciting opportunity for a licensed practical nurse interested in building a foundation that promotes the health and well-being of the community. This is a large facility offering nurses an opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary teams that are focused on improving patient health outcomes. The team in the IV Clinic is small but mighty and work cohesively to ensure the best patient outcomes and support each other. As the successful candidate, you will bring with you the ability to adapt to multiple shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will also be able to communicate well with patients, ensuring understanding and being able to adjust your communication style to meet the needs of your audience. You will also be highly collaborative with your team in the collaborative care model but bring with you the ability to work independently as well. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent 2 years\' experience in an adult outpatient IV therapy clinic. Experience with Direct IV and PICC lines. Experience with connect care required.
