Your Opportunity:This Licensed Practical Nurse will support patients, technologists and radiologists in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at Chinook Regional Hospital. LPN will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas including CT, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology while delivering consistent quality care to patients. Duties involve gathering required medical information prior to booking procedures, obtaining informed consent, setting up sterile trays, assisting with procedures, monitoring patients, procedure documentation, IV starts, central line access, and coordinating procedures and add-ons. Must have the ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members. Must be able to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads and work conditions. Accountability, critical thinking, time management and communication skills are necessary. The successful candidate reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and works under the direction of other professional staff.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal, patient care, computer and public relations skills are essential. Good organization, documentation, coordination and communication skills, both oral and written, are required. Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude are essential. Good assessment and IV skills are required. The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful situations is required. Must be able to exercise good judgment, show initiative, be able to follow instructions carefully and work independently. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and Physicians. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Preferred Qualifications:Experience as an LPN in an acute care setting and/or Diagnostic Imaging would be a definite asset. Central Line Access including special certification for ports preferred. Experience with Connect Care and Netcare preferred.
