Reporting to the Clinical Lead, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) practicing under the LPN professional regulations and LPN Standards of Practice ensures person centered care is provided for residents in an individualized meaningful way and includes families. The main accountabilities of the position are to provide direct care for residents including administering medications, carrying out treatments and providing leadership for the Health Care Aides (HCAs). The incumbent in the position fosters and maintains effective relationships with site staff, family physicians, residents and family members.
The incumbent also acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of LeeCaring Communities.
Qualifications
Formal Education:
Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse Diploma Program.
Registration to full scope of practice with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
LPN Practice Permit and listed on the Public Directory of LPNs.
Current CPR Certificate
Dementia training is an asset.
Experience:
Previous experience working with older and/or disabled adults in continuing care settings.
Previous experience supervising health care aides.
