The LPN works as a member of the health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of clients, families, and communities within his/her level of competency. The LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care delivered to both adult and pediatric populations. The LPN works to full scope of practice and is expected to care for all patients, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Sheldon Chumir Health Centre is located in downtown Calgary and offers a wide range of services including Urgent Care, Mental Health, Public Health, Home Care, Specialty Clinics, and Community Outreach. The Urgent Care Centre is open 24 hours a day seven days a week and provides care for unscheduled health conditions to a diverse population as part of an integrated community service delivery model.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
