PLC mental health team is a group of dynamic multidisciplinary teams that work together to ensure our patients have the best care and experience. Our site runs six Addictions and Mental Health programs (two General psyche units, Day hospital, Psyche ED, Consultation Liaison and the specialty Mental Health Short Stay Unit (SSU). As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the in-patient acute psychiatric nursing unit collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities. This position is responsible for communicating with other departments and services, across the Addiction and Mental Health continuum, to ensure the provision of comprehensive, high-quality care to promote recovery and wellness. The opportunity to be a strong advocate for the patient is an integral role as you will facilitate the appeal process for patient certification. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
