Your Opportunity:An exciting opportunity exists to develop as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and work to your full scope of practice within a collaborative team at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC). Unit 54 General Medicine is a temporary 30 bed inpatient medical unit sharing space with surgery. These temporary surge beds are intended to help support increased patient demand at PLC. You will be responsible for caring for medical inpatients (usually under the care of a Hospitalist) and providing excellent patient and family centered care supporting the acute needs of our patients. As a LPN on Unit 54 General Medicine, you will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physicians, Allied Health professionals and support workers; fostering a unit culture that values and respects individual team members and their expertise. As the successful candidate you will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team; decision making, problem solving, and critical thinking skills using sound clinical reasoning; patient advocacy and patient education skills; time management and prioritization skills; conflict resolution skills and promotion of a positive teamwork environment while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
