Your Opportunity:Exciting opportunity to work at Full Scope of Practice on a busy Acute Medical Inpatient Unit. A Licensed Practical Nurse responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, patient education and evaluation of comprehensive patient and family care on a medical unit. Involves working with and delegating care to Nursing Attendants and collaborating with a large multidisciplinary team. This position is a great opportunity to work at full scope of practice, to develop a broad knowledge base and a solid Nursing foundation as well as provide care in a Collaborative work environment. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 6 months of acute inpatient medical experience within the last three years at full scope of practice. Experience working in a CoACT environment. Must possess the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, and bending, reaching and sustained posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects greater than 30 lbs. Demonstrated ability to perform and document physical assessments. Demonstrated ability to administer medications within the acute care setting. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, clinical judgment and problem-solving. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Preferred Qualifications:Geriatric & Dementia experience preferred. Current certification in CVC Therapy and Blood Glucose monitory.
