Your Opportunity:The License Practical Nurse (LPN) - Adult Psychiatric Unit 49 role includes the full scope of practice for a License Practical Nurse (LPN) in an adult acute care mental health unit. This position will work in collaboration with the entire nursing team, within a fast-paced acute care environment. The License Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide safe and effective nursing care following hospital policies and nursing care standards. The License Practical Nurse (LPN) will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient\'s physical, mental and emotional state. The License Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist patients with activities in daily living and provide patients and their families with relevant information and teaching. The License Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for collaborating as a member of the health care team, delivering consistent quality care, to meet the needs of the patient. The License Practical Nurse (LPN) may be required to deal with patients who at times may be aggressive, unpredictable and high risk and must be able to de-escalate patients and respond appropriately. The successful applicant with be invested in ongoing professional development, participating in a variety of learning opportunities as an ongoing awareness of best practice changes coming from AHS as a larger system as well as outside of AHS. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
