Located on the 11th floor of the Foothills Medical Centre (FMC), the unit offers almost full 360 degree unobstructed views of downtown Calgary, the river valley and the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Unit 112 is a 28 bed cardiac monitored unit that is fast paced, one of a kind unit within Alberta Health Services that provides specialized care that includes the management of acute strokes, brain injuries, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries and other neurological issues. The acute neuroscience/neurosurgery LPN works to full scope of practice providing nursing care for patients and families. This is done within a team-forward environment that prides itself in the multidisciplinary collaboration amongst NP\'s, Nurse Clinicians, LPN\'s, HCA\'s, MD\'s, OT, PT, and SW, dietician and pharmacist. As such, a strong commitment to teamwork is reflected in our daily practice which relies on excellent inter-professional communication. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
