Unit 93/94 is a Medical Teaching Unit with 26 beds per side whose focus is on providing quality and safe care to our complex acute medical patients. As an LPN on Unit 93/94, you will have the opportunity to mentor all levels of learners. Your duties include managing admissions and discharges, and prioritizing care needs for the Acute Medical population. This is an outstanding chance to work to an advanced scope of practice. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to work to advanced scope. Proven ability to function in an acute medical nursing environment within the last 12 months. Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing technology. Current Heart and Stroke BLS-HCP certification. Strong assessment and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Strong Critical thinking and problem solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with clinical documentation standards (Connect Care). Candidates with previous experience on a unit of comparable acuity/patient population are strongly preferred.
