Your Opportunity:
The Peter Lougheed Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (PLC NICU) is a 27 bed, level 2 unit located in Calgary, Alberta. Care has a significant focus on feeding progression, preparation for discharge home as well as supporting the busiest labor and delivery department in the Calgary zone. The successful candidate will be required to coordinate the delivery of nursing care for the premature and critically ill neonate. The nurse will participate in family teaching and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The nurse will be able to maintain positive working relationships with parents, families, and co-workers, and be able to independently manage multiple priorities.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with Article 14.01 in the AHS/AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Care Collective Agreement, Licensed Practical Nurses shall be paid $27.04/hour - $35.42/hour ($27.58/hour \xc2\xbf $36.13/hour effective April 1, 2023).
