Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be a member of an integrated service delivery team, caring for patients presenting to the Airdrie Urgent Care Centre. In consultation with Physician, NP and RN colleagues, the LPN is expected to utilize professional knowledge, clinical judgment, critical thinking, technical and interpersonal skills in order to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Urgent Care setting. It is expected that the LPN will follow established policies and procedures, be responsible and accountable to the public for his/her own practice, according to the standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) Standards of Practice (2003). Strong communication and leadership skills are valued. This is a fast-paced environment that requires critical thinking skills. The Airdrie Urgent Care Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will provide care for a diverse population of unscheduled patients presenting with various health conditions. The Airdrie Urgent Care is located within the Airdrie Community Health Care Centre, which offers a wide range of services including urgent care, mental health, public health and home care.
