Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to enter into the world of virtual health by joining the Alberta Virtual Pain Program at Health Link. This program will assist Albertans living with chronic pain to gain access to the Alberta Virtual Pain program. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for safe, effective and appropriate screening for eligibility to the Alberta Virtual Pain program. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) incorporates unique knowledge, skills, and competencies and requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills as well as strong knowledge of navigation resources. This is a sedentary full-time position, Monday-Friday.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience in the last 2 years within Chronic pain management. Ability to complete telephone interviews and electronic clinical documentation for extended periods of time. Able to work as part of a team, be self-directed and action-oriented, and demonstrate quick problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Exhibits strong time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated empathetic disposition. Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated competency with computer applications to complete clinical documentation on web-based computer programs in a supported environment. The successful candidate must have a minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute and intermediate computer skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and diligence with the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging and constantly changing environment. Exhibits effective interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships within the interdisciplinary team. Experience working in a call center.
