Your Opportunity:In this regularized relief team position, you will float to shifts in all three Mackenzie Place units as staffing needs require. Working collaboratively with the health care team and in a leadership role on the Supportive Living units, you will apply your nursing knowledge, skills, and judgment to assess client needs and provide nursing care that is reflective of your level of education and knowledge. You will create partnerships with clients, families and coworkers that will lead to the best outcomes and enhance client quality of life. You will be expected to maintain competency through ongoing professional development. As a member of the Mackenzie Place relief team, you will work shifts in both Designated Supportive Living (DSL4) units and the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU). The DSL4 units provide clients with a home where they can enjoy privacy and independence with the comfort of knowing their health and personal care supports are on-site when needed. The ECU is a dynamic environment that is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioral issues. Clients may exhibit challenging, unpredictable responsive behaviors which require enhanced staffing expertise to provide care and oversight. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in the charge role and supervising unregulated health care professionals. Must be willing and able to float to all three units as staffing needs require, including on short notice. There are 2 positions available. Preferred Qualifications:Experience dealing with the entire age spectrum including seniors. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
