Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic environment that is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioural issues. Residents may exhibit challenging, unpredictable responsive behaviours, which require enhanced staffing expertise to provide care and oversight. The Licensed Practical Nurse position will be based out of the Enhanced Care Unit however will also involve working in Designated Supportive Living Level 4 Assisted Living when required. Reporting to the Care Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills to provide care to individuals. The City of Grande Prairie is located in Northwest Alberta and has something for everyone. Our new state-of-the-art regional hospital and cancer center opened in December 2021. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
