Fraserside Community Services Society invites applications for the following position:

: Licensed Practical Nurse

Rate of Pay

: $38.51 per hour; increments as per Collective Agreement

JOB SUMMARY:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents of Peterson Place in accordance with the guidelines within the Professional Standards outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC and the current legislative scope of practice.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing Program and one year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience recognized by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC. Experience in mental health and addictions support is an asset. Experience working with clients struggling with substance use, mental and spiritual wellness, poverty and homelessness. Strong skills in working with a multi-barrier and diverse population while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Demonstrated ability to work with residents who engage in high risk activities using a harm reduction philosophy. Proven ability to communicate in a manner that promotes positive working relationships with residents, co-workers, community partners, community members and stakeholders. Strong organizational and communication skills and a good team player. Valid certification in First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

HOURS OF WORK:

This is a temporary full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from

8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Start and finish times may vary and flexibility with hours of work may be required to meet client and program needs as determined by the Program Supervisor.
