Fraserside Community Services Society invites applications for the following position:

Job Title:

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Rate of Pay:

$38.51 per hour and increments in accordance with the terms of the Collective Agreement

JOB SUMMARY:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents of Peterson Place in accordance with the competency guidelines within the Professional Standards outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC and the current legislative scope of practice.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing Program and one year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience recognized by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC.

Experience in mental health and addictions support work would be helpful.

Experience working with clients who are struggling with substance use, mental and spiritual wellness, poverty and homelessness and strong skills in working with a multi-barrier population while maintaining appropriate boundaries and providing solid team leadership

Demonstrated ability to work with residents who engage in high risk activities using a harm reduction philosophy

Proven ability to communicate in a manner that promotes positive working relationships with residents, co-workers, community partners, community members and stakeholders

Strong organizational and communication skills

Demonstrated ability and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations

Valid certification in First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

Successful Criminal Record Check

PRESENT HOURS OF WORK: Casual/ On Call

Start and finish times may vary and flexibility with hours of work is required to meet the program needs, as determined by the Site Supervisor.
