What is Required for the Position

• 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a mechanic. Experience in infrastructure is considered an asset.
• 429A or 310T License
• Knowledge and experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of the operation, repair and maintenance of heavy-duty construction equipment.
• Perform work in a shop environment and on-site (outdoors in the elements as required)
• Must be comfortable working in small spaces, working inside shafts, climbing up and down shafts, and working in enclosed spaces.
• Comfortable using technology and communication tools.
• Work in safe and effective manner.
• Detail oriented and able to communicate in a professional manner.

The Job As an Earth Boring Licensed Mechanic you will maintain, repair and commission a wide range of equipment, from heavy construction equipment, directional drills, auger bore machines, generators, welders and other related construction gear. You have a winning attitude and will demonstrate success in developing solutions to tough and challenging problems. You are an outstanding communicator, production focused, and a clear aptitude for safety. The Tasks

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to identify faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical and systems issues using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Perform repairs and test equipment for proper functionality and performance requirements of the equipment.
• Order parts and maintain required inventory levels of parts.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as per the specifications.
• Maintain and document repairs and services performed on equipment.
• Communicate with the appropriate people on the status of the repairs and estimated timelines for completion.
• Perform on-site repairs as required.
