Our client is a machine shop with a full range of machining services. Their capabilities include: CNC machining, precision grinding, manual turning and milling, plus a full inspection service. They are currently recruiting for a General Machinist/ Toolmaker who is responsible setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision machining, and is skilled at interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Shift :
Afternoon Shift Monday to Thursday 3:15pm-12:15am Friday 3:15pm - 7:00pm
Primary Responsibilities:
Use of various equipment/tools to create and repair tooling, including, but not limited to, grinders, welding equipment, machining equipment, overhead cranes,
Prepare and load/set up the raw material or die sections in the machine
Program/Run CNC code from provided CAD data using Mastercam
Maintain equipment by completing PMs and calling for repair if required
Manufacture, modify and repair precision tools, jigs, fixtures according to specifications, blueprints and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Certified Machinist and/or Tool and Die Maker (Preferred but not mandatory)
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on machining experience within Canada
Machining qualifications and work history must be Canadian-based
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints (Required)
Skilled in operating and programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
Advanced knowledge of Mastercam software (Essential)
Experienced with CNC control systems including Okuma, Fanuc. Siemens, and Heidenhain
Strong in CNC programming using G-code and M-code languages
