Community Safety Job Summary/Basic Function
The City\xe2\x80\x99s Licensing and Bylaw Department investigates 16,000 bylaw complaints annually about a variety of issues from traffic to business license violations. Apply your conflict resolution, problem solving and communication skills, and work closely with the public, RCMP, Court officials and other municipal staff to resolve infractions. Use your post-secondary training in Bylaw Enforcement Investigation and experience in bylaw or other related law enforcement to investigate and resolve complaints of bylaw infractions while ensuring compliance of municipal bylaws with professionalism and impartiality. We are looking for a number of energetic and versatile individuals to join our dynamic Bylaw team to provide casual work coverage. Please note, this casual work coverage will consist of mostly full-time hours between the months of May to September. Duties Qualifications

• Recognized Bylaw Enforcement & Investigative Skills Certificate (i.e. Justice Institute Level I & II Program or equivalent)
• Related experience (i.e. bylaw or law enforcement or investigative field)
• BC Drivers License \xe2\x80\x93 Class 5

CUPE Pay Rate
Starts at $40.02 per hour with two step progressions to $42.66 per hour plus 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits Days of Work
Sunday to Saturday Hours of Work
Shift work, 4 days on 4 days off.
2 days: 6:00am to 5:00pm
2 days: 1:00pm to 12:00am Standard Hours per Day
