The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Under the general supervision of the Manager Library Services, and the daily supervision Librarian Educators, this position supports aspects of the following operational areas within the department:

  • Engagement and Web Presence
  • Collections and Technical Services
  • Content Management Systems
  • Learning Management System (LMS)
Skills/knowledge required to support operational needs fall into these categories:
  • Editorial
  • Proficient in using editorial copyediting standards, business communication practices, graphic design software (such as Canva) and applications that support layout of online content (text and visual)
  • Basic understanding of copyright principles
  • Customer Service and Collection Access
  • Knowledge of publishing and distribution channels supporting library acquisitions
  • Knowledge of publication and financial details
  • Experience providing information services and corresponding with clients across a variety of communication channels
  • Classification and cataloguing
  • Knowledge of library classification and cataloguing standards and application
  • Familiarity with MeSH is an asset
  • Web Design and Content Management
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap coding, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about Springshare LibApps, InMagic DB/TextWorks, DOCLINE, Internet browsers, collections maintenance
  • Experience with Excel, Articulate, PowerPoint, Word
About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Successful completion of a recognized Library and Information Technician Program
  • Minimum of 2 years library experience or equivalent
  • Health Science Library experience preferred
  • Completion of a medical terminology course an asset
  • Knowledge of library procedures and resources
  • Experience creating and editing web pages using basic HTML coding
  • Experience editing images using multimedia applications
  • Proficient skills in library computer systems and applications such as InMagic DB/TextWorks, Internet use, DOCLINE
  • Proficient in word processing, database management and spreadsheet applications
  • Able to use library technical equipment such as photocopiers, scanners and fax machine
  • Experience formatting and proofreading both print and electronic documents
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$22.32 - $25.37 hourly
$43,528 - $49,464 annually
$26.25 hourly ($51,195 annually) with 25 years\' relevant experience.
