The Library Systems Analyst is responsible for the effective management and configuration of library applications to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the University of Saskatchewan community.Nature of Work
The Library Systems Analyst works as part of a professional IT (Information Technology) services team to provide business analysis, systems configuration, user support, and training for library applications. The Library Systems Analyst is responsible for business analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, and testing of solutions that meet current and future client needs. The position is regularly tasked with solving complex, challenging business problems. The ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member, and to appropriately prioritize response to a variety of time-sensitive tasks is required. Continual learning, mentoring, and knowledge sharing are key components of the position.Working with Library and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) staff, the Library Systems Analyst is responsible for implementing and/or configuring new systems for the Library as well as the enhancement, maintenance, and support of existing ones. Systems used include vendor on-premises and cloud software solutions, open-source software, and in-house custom applications and tools using development frameworks. This position currently focuses on maintaining and enhancing the library management system and catalogue systems in support of our University Plan 2025 to be the university the world needs (n\xc4\xabk\xc4\x81n\xc4\xabt\xc4\x81n man\xc4\x81cihitowinihk; ni manach\xc4\xabhitoonaan).Periodic evening or weekend work is involved, which will be balanced with flex time considerations.Typical Duties or Accountabilities
