Reporting to the Borrower Services Coordinator the Library Services Assistant provides in-person and online chat library services to CUE students, instructors, and staff.


Other responsibilities include sorting and shelving library materials, open/closing the library, and assisting the Coordinator, Borrower Services and Librarians with other duties and projects as assigned.




Responsibilities:




Sort and shelve library materials Open and/or close the library Work on projects assigned by the Borrower Services Coordinator Assist the Borrower Services Coordinator with Interlibrary Loans processing Process library reports, holds and NEOS bin Explain library policies to borrowers and provide directional information Refer fines and lost book charge appeals to Borrower Services Coordinator Provide in-person and chat library service to CUE students, instructors, and staff Assist Librarians with the creation of instructional support materials Answer reference questions and refer complex questions to Research Services staff Provide assistance to the Communications Team


Requirements:




Library Technician diploma required Bachelor's degree desirable but not required Graphic design and social media management skills are an asset Strong attention to detail Student-focus, collaboration, and the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders within the Concordia University of Edmonton community Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal form with a strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling Data entry and keyboarding skills Intermediate proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office (specifically, Word & Excel) is required with an aptitude to learn other software Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills Effective time and task management skills are essential Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results
