Job Description

UCN acknowledges that we are on the traditional

DUTIES

Reporting to Community Librarian, UCN is seeking a Library Clerk in Easterville, Manitoba to provide a variety of general clerical and customer


service to patrons This role includes performing various tasks to assist library users, shelving and organizing books, periodicals and other


printed materials, inter-library loans and returns, delivery of evening and weekend programs and maintaining library operations.




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

o Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience performing clerical tasks Excellent customer service skills Detail orientated - alphabetization and decimal skills are critical Effective organizational skills Effective communication and Interpersonal skills Effective time management skills Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS

o Ability to speak an Indigenous language


Previous library-related experience Experience with the Library computer program: SITKA/Evergreen Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

o Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada


Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check Must be available to work evenings and weekends Physically capable of performing the required duties (lifting heavy boxes (10+ kgs), bending/reaching library shelves) Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
