Description:
The person performs simple and varied tasks specific to the operation of the city library.
Departmental mission:
The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services
General responsibilities and goals:
Examples of tasks to be performed:

• Greets and assists users
• Provides users with information on, among other things, membership and loan regulations, the layout and use of documents, programming, the layout of catalogs, the use of premises, etc.
• Performs circulation desk duties, such as recording loans and returns, memberships, registrations, processing reservations, payments, etc.
• Ensures that documents, materials, and equipment are in good condition and order, and communicates with users as needed to notify them of missing or damaged items.
• Retrieves books, magazines, films, records, etc., shelves them, and files cards, documents, etc.
• Monitors reading rooms.
• Handles reservations, manages the waiting list and the use of internet stations, and provides necessary explanations on how to use them
• Checks and prepares equipment, games, and educational toys
• Performs minor repairs to documentation
• Assembles and prepares printed materials for binding
• Prepares bound books and new books according to established procedures
• Participates in and/or leads activities
• Verifies that supplier deliveries match the appropriate invoices, writes purchase orders, and reports any discrepancies to their supervisor
• Counts the cash register and balances it according to transaction reports
• Fills out reimbursement slips for lost documents
• Collects and compiles required statistics
• Uses various office equipment as needed to perform certain job-related tasks, such as typing and photocopying, using the appropriate programming
• Performs any other related tasks

Job requirements:

• High school diploma
• Less than 6 months of experience
• Bilingualism (spoken and written French and English)
• Good knowledge of MS Office)

Schedule:
Variable - 15 to 17 hours per week
