: Rocky Lane School is hiring a half-time Educational Assistant and half-time Library Assistant for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year.
The Educational Assistant is part of a school team effectively supporting students in the Divisional priorities of Numeracy, Literacy, Connectivity and Career Paths. Educational Assistants work with students in classrooms, individually, and in small groups as directed by School Administration.
The Library Assistant is responsible to maintain the school library collection and help students and staff access library resources. The Library Assistant will work alongside other staff members to assist and supervise classes during their weekly library period.
Library Assistant Duties will include:
Circulation Desk-scan library materials in and out
Book repair and collection of overdue books
Maintain a library budget and year-end inventory
Purchase and catalogue new books, and multimedia materials
Keep the library attractive and tidy, including displays and bulletin boards
Assist with the planning and organization of author visits
Assist students with technology when referencing or doing research
Promote Literacy within the school
The Educational Assistant position is to provide special needs support. Duties are assigned according to student needs and may change at any time.
Schools within the Fort Vermilion School Division follow an inclusive education model. Students with diverse learning needs are included within the regular classroom setting wherever possible. Targeted and specialized supports and services are provided as required by individual students either within the regular classroom or in a specialized setting.

Immediately/ As soon as possible upon hire after the Strike
End Date:
June 8, 2026
Hours:
32.5 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications:
Grade 12 Diploma
Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent
Post-secondary courses or library related experience
Computer experience or training in Microsoft Office and Google programs
Knowledge or understanding of the following: mathematics at the k-9 grade levels, the science of reading, and social emotional supports for children
Experience working with students in a school setting
An ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents in a confidential manner

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience
