Position Overview:
We are seeking a
Liability Claims Examiner
with
5-10 years of relevant experience
to join our growing team. The primary focus of this role is to handle claims on liability lines, including general liability and niche commercial risks. However, the successful candidate will also be expected to manage files in
other commercial lines
, such as
property and errors & omissions (E&O)
, as needed.
This is an ideal role for an experienced, adaptable examiner who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to grow within a collaborative and forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and manage a caseload of
commercial liability claims
, including bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims.
Review coverage under a variety of commercial policies, including CGL, Property, and E&O.
Coordinate with independent adjusters, legal counsel, brokers, and policyholders throughout the claims lifecycle.
Analyze adjuster reports, expert opinions, legal documentation, and claimant correspondence to assess liability and determine appropriate file strategy.
Set and update accurate reserves in accordance with company protocols and industry standards.
Make recommendations on claim settlements and seek approval where required.
Respond professionally to inquiries from brokers, insureds, and third parties.
Maintain detailed, timely documentation within the claims management system.
Assist with claims in other lines of business (e.g., Property, E&O, Marine, Accident, etc.) as needed based on volume and team support.
Participate in internal improvement initiatives, offering feedback on processes and tools to enhance workflow and outcomes.
Qualifications:
5-10 years of experience
in claims examination, with strong emphasis on
liability claims
.
Experience handling
property
or
E&O
claims is a strong asset.
Valid Adjuster Level One license or eligible coursework completed.
Solid knowledge of commercial lines wordings and regulatory requirements in Canada.
Experience working in a TPA, MGA, or Lloyd's claims environment preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in working in a digital and paperless claims environment.

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
