The Lesson Coordinator is responsible for

overseeing the daily coordination of instructors and lessons to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality program delivery. This includes assigning daily group, private, and multi-week lessons to instructors, managing class ratios to minimize wage costs, and reallocating students between groups as needed to support effective learning.


In addition, the Lesson Coordinator monitors the quality of ski and snowboard lessons, provides on-hill support to instructors, and steps in to teach, when necessary, due to staffing shortages. The Lesson Coordinator also plays a leadership role in staff motivation and engagement and reports directly to the Assistant Director, or to the WSS Director when the Assistant Director is unavailable.

What We're Looking For:




Minimum CSIA Level 2 or CASI Level 2 certification

AT least 3 seasons teaching experience

Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Availability on weekends and holidays

Strong team player who thrives in a small, tight-knit crew

Key Responsibilities:



Conduct daily morning tailgate safety meetings to ensure consistent communication and preparedness.

Collaborate with Human Resources on staff motivation and engagement initiatives.

Identify and report staff discipline issues to the Assistant Director, or to the WSS Director when necessary.

Work in collaboration with the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Committee; complete near-miss and incident reports as required and provide documentation to the WSS Director.

Record daily attendance of instructors and evaluate staff for "Fit to Work" readiness at the start of each day.

Assign lessons (daily groups, private lessons, and multi-week programs) to instructors based on qualifications and experience.

Manage staff-to-student ratios to ensure operational efficiency, minimize standby pay, and maintain wage cost controls.

Reassign students between groups as necessary to balance class sizes and learning outcomes.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director or WSS Director, confirm next-day staffing and release instructors as required by 3:00 p.m. daily.

Monitor the quality of instruction through on-hill observations, with particular focus on beginner areas.

Aid instructors who may require support with lesson delivery.

Deliver ski and snowboard lessons when required due to staffing shortages or lesson recovery needs.

Provide both group and private lessons for guests of all ages and ability levels.

Ensure all lessons are delivered in a safe, professional, and engaging learning environment.

Address guest concerns in a professional manner, escalating complaints to the Assistant Director or WSS Director. Assist in the delivery of training programs, including OH&S and WSS policies and procedures.

Support ongoing instructor development through regular skills training and professional development sessions.

Ensure compliance with all Winter Sports School policies, procedures, and training standards.

Actively support the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) culture, policies, procedures, and Safety Management Systems.

Additional opportunities to lead Snowshoe Tours, Fat Bike Tours, and assist with resort events

Dec 1, 2025 or sooner as negotiated

Shifts & Hours:




4 to 5 days per week

30 to 40 hours per week

Wage Scale while working as Lesson Coordinator:




$22.50 - $23.50 per hour based on experience

Wage Scale While Teaching Lessons (Hourly):




Level 1: $19.50 - $21.50


Level 2: $23.50 - $25.50


Level 3: $25.25 - $27.25


Level 4: $30.25 - $32.25

Additional pay increases when teaching lessons for years of experience and multi-discipline certifications
