The Job:
We are hiring a full-time and permanent
Legal Office Manager
accountable for the day-to-day operations of the firm including management and training of support staff as well as develop and implement modernization initiatives.

Job Requirements:
Aptitude for and experience in a leadership, management, or supervisor role
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a Business, Legal, or related discipline
Minimum of 2 years working as Legal Assistant, Law Clerk, or Paralegal
Strong grasp of Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Small Claims Court*, as well Ontario Court Practice Directions Experience in supporting legal professionals at all stages of file lifecycle
Professional demeanor, accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work independently, to prioritize assignments, and work collaboratively
Strong grasp of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Preferred:
Relevant degree or diploma from accredited Ontario institutions
Experience in employment law, civil litigation, or similar
Desire to learn and advance in the legal profession
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and accountability in all day-to-day operations of the firm including workload and workflow management, working directly with legal professionals to ensure proper resource planning, knowledge sharing, and resolution of issues
Manage and train legal support staff in all systems and policies
Maintaining established systems and policies
Develop and implement modernization initiatives
Perform work assignments at all stages of the client lifecycle
Open files, prepare retainer agreements, and prepare invoices
Direct communications by email and telephone with clients, lawyers, and third-parties
Other clerical/administrative assistance may be required
Support management in a wide variety of functions including practice management, accounts payable, remittance and professional fees, payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, IT, resource management, benefits, insurances, LSO obligations etc.
