Legal Counsel - Securities (2 year+)
MontrealAre you looking for the new challenge in a stimulating environment?Would you like to be part of a team with a human approach that specializes in legal and regulatory matters?Our client, an established securities regulator based in downtown Montreal, is looking for legal counsel for a 12-month contract.YOUR ROLE

• Provide legal advice with respect to the development of new products and services;
• Ensuring new products comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
• Negotiate, draft and interpret a broad variety of commercial agreements, and advise on areas that include corporate, securities, and intellectual property law;
• Draft trading and clearing rules, policies and procedures in close cooperation with the business groups;
• Support the businesses\' compliance with their regulatory obligations in Canada and internationally;
• Manage various regulatory filings and prepare documentation required for rule changes;
• Oversee the preparation of materials for board and committee meetings.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

• Bachelor\'s degree in law and member in good standing of the Barreau du Qu\xc3\xa9bec;
• Approximately 2 to 4 years of experience in corporate, commercial, securities and finance law;
• Strong background in commercial or securities law and in dealing with securities and other regulators;
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements;
• Fluently bilingual in French and English, both orally and in writing
