We\'re looking for a French-qualified Legal Counsel to join our commercial legal team in Montreal. Please note that this is a fixed-term contract (replacement of an employee on parental leave). As Legal Counsel, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel based in EMEA, you will provide legal advice in connection with all of our activities in the region.

Diligence, accountability, and business acumen are key success factors for this position, with great responsibility and a very exciting opportunity to work in a fast-growing company.

What you\'ll be doing:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and templates with customers, strategic partners, resellers and suppliers, primarily but not exclusively for the EU, the UK and Switzerland, with a focus on the French market;
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including in the Sales, Marketing, Product, Technology, Support, Finance, HR and Information Technology teams;
  • Assisting with drafting, revising, implementing and interpreting the company\'s compliance policies, procedures and programs;
  • Assisting with litigation management, employment matters, corporate legal requirements, privacy and other compliance matters, as needed;
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies and government authorities as required;
  • Participating in the legal training of colleagues and stakeholder groups;
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and supporting complex, cross-functional and/or multi-jurisdictional projects and special requests from the executive team.
What you need to bring:
  • Fully qualified French lawyer (Master 2 law degree, preferably in international business, contract, or corporate law).
  • 4 to 5 years of professional experience gained with an international law firm or as an in-house counsel.
  • Experience working in SaaS or similar industry is preferred.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
  • Excellent drafting, analytic and negotiation skills with a strong commercial sense and flexible hands-on approach to business, with the ability to be creative.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
