Job Description


WHAT TO EXPECT

Have you completed your law studies and are looking for a place to article at the bar? Are you interested in corporate law? Are you interested in a position focused on business law, mergers and acquisitions (not litigation!)? Your expertise will be put to use in a family business with projects and challenges of large international companies! As a legal advisor, you will work within the Soucy Service Center\'s legal team in order to provide legal support to the various subsidiaries of the group in different areas of law (corporate, intellectual property, environment, labor and employment, etc.). You will also contribute to the management of the legal risks of the companies so that they can achieve their strategic objectives. Here\'s an overview of your tasks:
  • Analyze, draft and negotiate contractual agreements related to our business activities (e.g. supplier contract, licenses) as well as any relevant legal documentation in the context of the management of the company\'s business (e.g. confidentiality agreement, legal notice, etc.)
  • Analyze and interpret laws, regulations, decrees and any other legal texts or documents and ensure that the interests and liability of the group companies are adequately protected
  • Collaborate with our external legal advisors
  • Collaborate with managers of various departments to advise them on various legal aspects
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, corporate policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Identify legal issues, analyze possible solutions and provide recommendations to achieve business objectives
  • Participate in the creation, drafting and implementation of standard procedures, policies and contracts

WHAT WE\xe2\x80\x99RE LOOKING FOR

  • One year of experience would be an asset or relevant experience in business law
  • Bachelor\'s degree in law and membership in the Quebec Bar or in the process of becoming a member
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, confidentiality and integrity
  • Be organized, detail-oriented, resourceful and self-reliant
  • Ability to manage priorities and several files at once under tight deadlines, to work in a fast-paced environment and to work effectively in a team
