About the role




We're looking for a

Legal Claims Assistant II

to join our growing team!



What you'll do here:



Provide administrative support such as scheduling meetings, photocopying, drafting correspondence, preparing pleadings, creating and updating trial binders, etc. Implement an effective diary system to help manage the lawyer's practice. Partner with assigned lawyers in managing workflow, scheduling appearances, monitoring calendars and meeting various deadlines. Support clients to schedule appointments; exchange and obtain information and communicate case progress. Review and manage documents with software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date. Providing support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management. Draft legal correspondence, pleadings and other documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Accomplish organizational goals by living our Intact Values.

What you bring to the table:



College diploma from either a legal office administration or law clerk program, or any combination of equivalent education and experience Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in the insurance defence litigation Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Strong document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize Intact's various software programs, including iManage, Citrix, ACL, Nuance Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills Ability to prioritize and organize with a demonstrated disciplined approach to work Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills Ability to work in a team or independently, exercise sound judgment and take initiative Demonstrate a disciplined approach to work Working knowledge of the rules of civil procedure (SCBC; PCBC: CRT; HRT etc.) No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:


$51,500.00 - $77,300.00
