The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission is seeking an organized and reliable professional Legal Assistant for the Commission, for a part-time / term position from October 6, 2025, to March 31, 2026, working a maximum of 28.125 hours weekly (0.75 FTE).
Reporting to the Director of Legal Affairs and the Manager of Administrative Services, the Legal Assistant will provide high quality and efficient legal and administrative support to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission. Duties will include the composition of correspondence, memoranda, and legal documentation together with maintaining electronic and paper filing systems. The successful candidate must be familiar with the Court of King's Bench Rules of Court of Saskatchewan and the procedures for preparing files for hearing including the assembly of casebooks, trial books, subpoenas and the filing of court documentation.
The candidate of choice should hold Grade 12 plus a Legal Assistant Diploma and/or 3 years minimum experience as a Legal Assistant. Experience with office organizational principles and systems and advanced computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office is essential. Data entry with accuracy and attention to detail are essential for this position. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to listen, accurately comprehend and orally respond to inquiries from the public, other agencies, staff, and ministries. You will be able to organize and prioritize a high volume of projects, consistently produce high quality work, and develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, clients and stakeholders.
