Huckvale LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Family Law and Wills & Estates practice, working primarily with one lawyer. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing files from start to finish and building a strong, consistent working relationship.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal and administrative support in family law and wills & estates matters
Work primarily with one lawyer while collaborating with the broader team as needed
Assist with preparing, drafting, and formatting legal documents including, pleadings, affidavits, separation/divorce and property agreements, and estate planning documents;
Manage files from opening to closing, including diarizing deadlines, maintaining accurate file records, and organizing financial disclosure
Assist with court filings and document preparation
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties
Handle scheduling, correspondence, and follow-ups
Assist with time entry, billing support, and general file administration
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years experience as a legal assistant
Direct experience in family law and wills & estates is required
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
Professional, discreet, and client-focused
