Working in conjunction with the principal lawyer, the junior legal clerk provides support in all matters pertaining to client files and the functioning of the practice.
In this capacity, the junior legal assistant:
Assist in drafting forms and letters in support of applications for Immigration and Canadian citizenship.
Ensure confidentiality of all client-related documents and information is maintained in accordance with the Law Society of British Columbia's rules on solicitor client privilege and confidentiality
Attend client meetings and take scans/photocopies of pertinent documents
Assist the lawyer in client matters - Act as a liaison between the client and the lawyer, observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from relevant sources
Upload information and supporting documents for online immigration applications for the review of the lawyer
Ensure all necessary file documents are accurately and completely filed in electronic files in a timely manner, ensuring that all application deadlines are respected
Communicate with people outside the organization; represent the organization to clients, the public, the government and external sources
Coordinate messenger and courier deliveries for files
Keep up to date both technically and with information resources, applying new knowledge to the job
Assist the lawyer by researching application procedures, processing times and legal articles
Assist in the ongoing general administration of the Practice together with coworkers
Keep up to date on changes to immigration regulations and procedures
Assisting with the principal lawyer's CBA duties.

Experience: will train
Immigration status: Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
English language ability.
French or another second language is considered an asset.
High attention to detail.
Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF.
Experience with Clio Mange and Clio Grow is considered an asset.
Strong skills in client relations
Ability to multitask while performing work efficiently and accurately
Working Conditions
Compensation will be commensurate to work experience. During the probation period you will be offered a wage of $20-$22/hr.
Working conditions: full time employee will work between 30-35 hours per week and a part time employee will work 20 hours per week.
Benefits maybe provided at the discretion of the firm.
Remote work: may allow up to 1 day a week remote. after probation period.
