What We Are Looking For:
Aird & Berlis LLP is looking for a Legal Assistant in our Vancouver office, to aid a group of legal professionals with a primary focus on Corporate law. The successful candidate ideally will have experience in supporting corporate practices. The ideal candidate should be helpful, resourceful, have strong attention to detail, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and value strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities:
Independently manage the daily operation of a team of legal professionals who represent Indigenous clients with a primary practice focus in corporate law.
Prepare corporate documents, including resolutions, directors & officers registers and central securities registers using established precedents.
Assist with the onboarding of new entities into the firm's corporate database and be responsible for the maintenance of minute books.
Conduct corporate and due diligence searches.
Familiar with various government forms i.e., annual reports, business name registrations, limited partnership registrations, and extra-provincial registrations.
Assist with file organization and general practice management (e.g., saving notes, file naming, etc.)
Booking travel and accommodation for client meetings as required.
Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients, staff and lawyers.
Handle daily administrative matters.
Manage duties related to accounting (dockets, bills, expenses, etc.)
Provide general administrative support to the corporate legal team as required.
Produce the highest quality of work.

Requirements:
Minimum of two years previous experience as a Legal Assistant ideally in Corporate
Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Paralegal program
Thorough knowledge, understanding and ability to apply working knowledge of the relevant corporate statutes.
Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands.

MinuteBox, BC Online (and the new BC Registries system, Corporations Canada, and Adobe Acrobat)

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $55,000- $65,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
