Responsibilities:
Drafting correspondence and attending to court filings
Scheduling mediations, discoveries and appointments
Maintaining electronic calendars
Organizing files, document binders and other file materials
Entering lawyers' time, billing
Opening files
Maintaining Bring Forward system
Other administrative support as required
Key Qualifications:
Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant within a law firm
Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program
Key Skills:
Experience with court documents and court filings; experience in insurance defense a definite asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly using discretion, tact and courtesy
Proficiency with computers including MS Word, Excel and other relevant programs
Excellent document drafting skills
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Client service orientation
Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in independently and in a team environment
