Legal Administrative Assistant – Litigation (1 Year Contract March 2025)

Job Description

Our client is a leading Canadian law firm with offices nationwide, recognized for excellence in legal services and client care, seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support a Litigation EMER Practice for a maternity leave replacement starting in March 2025 for a 1-year term. EMER (refers to Environmental, Municipal, Expropriation, and Regulatory litigatio) and the role involves coordinating workflow, managing administrative tasks, and providing essential support to lawyers in meeting client and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate administrative support, including document production, file management, and scheduling.
  • Manage calendars, travel arrangements, meetings, and client communications.
  • Assist with billing processes, time entry, and financial reporting.
  • Support marketing efforts through pitch and presentation preparation.
  • Ensure accuracy in document review and minor edits; maintain spreadsheets as needed.
  • Actively contribute to client care and maintain CRM records.
Qualifications:
  • LAA certificate from an accredited program.
  • Typing speed of ~60 wpm and advanced proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience with LawPro and e-billing considered an asset.
This position requires a proactive, dependable individual with a solutions-focused approach and the ability to build trust and confidence quickly.
