Close Date: Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12:00pm (PST) POSITION SUMMARY Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies. The Parliamentary Education Office is seeking two organized, flexible and motivated individuals for the auxiliary as-and-when position of Tour Guide Team Lead (Team Lead). Reporting to the Parliamentary Tour Officer, the Team Lead is responsible for delivering informative and educational tours. Tours incorporate information on the history of B.C. and Canada, the parliamentary processes in B.C. and the architecture of the B.C. Parliament Buildings. The Team Lead must adapt to meet the diverse needs of a variety of visitors and are required to spend a significant amount of time outside welcoming visitors to the Parliament Buildings. The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Tour Program operations and Tour Program Staff supervision on weekends and statutory holidays. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be/have:

  • Previous experience as a Legislative Assembly Tour Guide and/or Parliamentary Player.
  • Experience public speaking before large audiences and/or school groups.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
  • Experience working in a supervisory capacity.
