The successful candidate would have an academic position description of Clinician\xe2\x80\x93Investigator, and must have graduate or advanced training in research, with evidence of research scholarship. Clinical experience in drug allergy assessment and management, and secondary immunodeficiency populations (eg. transplant, cancer) would be an asset. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is August 1, 2024, or thereafter.
The successful candidate will be expected to build a clinical practice in ambulatory Clinical Immunology/Allergy, as well as provide inpatient consult services at University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospitals. The successful candidate must hold a MD degree, be certified (or eligible for certification) in Clinical Immunology and Allergy by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and hold, or be eligible for licensure in Ontario. Clinical Immunology and Allergy is a developing specialty at UHN/SHS, housed within the Division of Respirology. This is a unique opportunity to design and implement a new clinical service to advance the care of our specialized patient populations. The successful candidate will establish an impactful clinical research program as an independent investigator, supervise trainee research projects, and publish and present their work. The successful candidate will also demonstrate commitment and excellence in teaching, and will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate education activities at the hospital and university. Estimated annual remuneration will be in the range of $250,000 - $350,000 (fee-for-service estimate) and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, experience, and volume of patients seen. The successful candidate will be a member of the Department of Medicine practice plan through which clinical billings and benefits are administered.
